Hi everyone! I’m back from taking a much-needed vacation, and after hiking and paddleboarding all around Seattle, I’m feeling well-rested and prepared to take on the rest of the year. Hopefully.

I just had a conversation today about how every year I tell myself, “You just have to get through InfoComm, and then it’s smooth sailing from there.” And every year that is not the case. There are always more events (in person and virtual) and more editorial focuses! But it’s fine. Whatever we tell ourselves to get us through the busy seasons 🤣.

Speaking of busy seasons, check out the Rants & rAVes episode featuring Tim Albright, in which we go through our final thoughts about InfoComm on the last day. Also, we have an episode with Robert Detwiler of Planar, who walks me through the tech of Planar’s latest TrueMicro and EverPixel technologies.

Finally, if you missed any episodes of rAVe [TV] this month, you can catch up on them below, too!

Have a great weekend!

FEATURED RANTS & RAVES EPISODE

Steph Beckett and Tim Albright Break Down InfoComm 2026

InfoComm 2026 is officially over, so Tim Albright and I sat down at the Datavideo booth to compare notes. We discuss the biggest trends from the show floor, the technologies that generated the most buzz, the surprises we encountered throughout the week and what it all might mean for the AV industry moving forward. From AI and collaboration to displays, production and everything in between, here’s our take on InfoComm 2026.

FEATURED RAVE [TV] EPISODE

What If the Experience Is the Product?

In the latest episode of rAVe [TV], Crestron’s Brad Hintze joins me to explore some of the biggest ideas coming out of AI today — from building purpose-built business tools and “disposable software” to why projects like FC Barcelona’s Espai Barça convinced him that the experience, not the venue, has become the real product. We also discuss what those seemingly unrelated ideas have in common and what manufacturers, integrators and end users should be thinking about as technology continues to evolve beyond hardware.
