AI has plentiful possibilities in all professions. For instance, I had ChatGPT write the below newsletter intro (but I edited it and added some pizzazz).
Welcome to this week’s newsletter! We have exciting news to share about two new columns that will be featured in today’s edition. Scott Tiner writes about the vast possibilities of artificial intelligence in the AV industry. Additionally, Dr. S. Ann Earon shares her expertise on how to create a collaborative office space for people of different generations.
We would also like to remind everyone to join the rest of LAVNCH WEEK 7, which is happening today until 4 p.m. EST. Don’t miss out on this incredible opportunity to learn and network with industry leaders. And don’t forget that tomorrow is ProAV Day, the last day of LAVNCH WEEK 7, worth 2.5 CTS RUs.
Not too shabby, right? I don’t think I’ll be quitting my day job any time soon, but it’s time we view AI (in all its facets) as tools to help us, rather than viewing it as something scary (like I did).
With this column, I want to focus more on the concept of artificial intelligence in general and what the future is going to look like. Let’s start with a definition of artificial intelligence. The Oxford Dictionary defines artificial intelligence as “the theory and development of computer systems able to perform tasks that normally require human intelligence, such as visual perception, speech recognition, decision-making, and translation between languages.” In AV, the concept of something that “normally requires human intelligence” is where we will find the power.
There is no difference in what should be included in collaborative spaces based on age. The important fact is to gather input from those who will be actually using the collaborative spaces and ensure all technologies exist to meet needs.
