Welcome to our latest edition of AV Buyers.Club!

You may remember Scott Tiner’s piece from January about how ChatGPT can be of real value to the AV industry. This month, he writes about other facets of AI and machine learning and how we can utilize these in AV.

We are also thrilled to introduce a new column from Sara Abrons, who did not attend ISE 2023. However, Sara watched (and helped title) over 1,700 product videos that we shot on the trade show floor, and in her column, she will be sharing her observations and insights on the latest trends in AV. Her column will surely be a must-read for anyone who wants to stay ahead of the curve in our industry.

I still think there’s a fine line between using something as a resource and relying on it too much, but maybe that’s something I can explore more in the future.

+ AI Has Endless Possibilities for AV [Scott Tiner]

With this column, I want to focus more on the concept of artificial intelligence in general and what the future is going to look like. Let’s start with a definition of artificial intelligence. The Oxford Dictionary defines artificial intelligence as “the theory and development of computer systems able to perform tasks that normally require human intelligence, such as visual perception, speech recognition, decision-making, and translation between languages.” In AV, the concept of something that “normally requires human intelligence” is where we will find the power.
