GLP announced an addition to its X5 Series, the X5 Dot Wash. The product is an ultra-compact fixture designed for installations in limited spaces.
The product is fanless, weighs around 580 grams and runs on 24-48V DC without the need for external drivers. This makes it relatively self-contained.
The fixture marks a first for the X5 Series, it’s a static unit and shares the color quality and iQ.Gamut color algorithm of the broader X5 family. This brings color consistency across mixed X5 rigs.
One feature that stands out is the built-in twist-zoom mechanism, which adjusts the beam angle manually by rotating the front lens, without changing the fixture’s footprint. GLP says luminous flux stays largely stable across that range, avoiding the output drop common in small-format optics. An IP65 rating also qualifies it for outdoor use.
Control of the product is available via DMX/RDM or wirelessly through GLP’s iQ.Mesh system. GLP noted in applications like theaters where dimming irregularities are easily spotted, the product’s 160bit color control for smooth fades is especially useful.
