intoPIX is showcasing its ability to compress 8K video into a 1G AV-over-IP stream using its JPEG XS codec, along with the IPMX and SMPTE ST 2110 standards.
The company’s JPEG XS codec features two key updates aimed at enabling high-resolution, low-latency video workflows:
- New TDC Profile: Delivers visually lossless compression for 4K and 8K video in AV-over-IP and live production applications.
- New Proxy Mode: Enables ultra-light JPEG XS proxy streams with zero latency, supporting real-time previews and multi-resolution workflows.
intoPIX supports its JPEG XS technology across a broad ecosystem of development tools and hardware platforms, including:
- FPGA IP cores for AMD and Altera FPGAs, with enhanced performance for Agilex 7 and 5 families.
- CPU SDKs for x86 and ARM architectures, with developer plugins and cross-platform OS support.
- GPU SDKs optimized for NVIDIA and other platforms.
To support wider adoption of IP-based video workflows, intoPIX is offering two new development kits:
- TitaniumSDK: A cross-platform software development kit designed for JPEG XS over IP. It supports IPMX source and sink roles and integrates NMOS for AV-over-IP, broadcast, medical, and industrial use cases. The kit enables real-time streaming of HD, 4K, and 8K video with low latency.
- TitaniumEDK: An embedded development kit featuring pre-integrated FPGA SoC designs, tailored for camera manufacturers and encoder/decoder developers operating in ST 2110, IPMX, and NMOS environments.
While the technology is now available for demonstration, intoPIX says commercial deployment will depend on hardware manufacturers incorporating these capabilities. New products using the codec are expected to begin shipping in early 2026.
