JVC Shows New AV over IP Security Cameras

jvc-ipcameras-0312JVC has launched a number of new analog and IP-based cameras, including eight Super LoLux HD IP-based cameras, two TK-T Series analog cameras and three additions to its V.Networks camera line. JVC also debuted its new HD network video recorders (NVRs).

JVC’s new line all support H.264 High Profile (security cameras and NVR), which JVC claims uses significantly less bandwidth than H.264 Baseline or Main Profile – the standard used by more than 90 percent of the IP security market right now.

Each Super LoLux HD camera includes a 1/3-inch CMOS imager (full HD 1080p at up to 30 fps). Other features include auto back focus, on-board recording to SD card, motion detection, privacy mask and a variety of built-in video analytics. The cameras support ONVIF and PSIA standards for network cameras, as well as a wide variety of leading video management software (VMS) platforms, including Milestone Xprotect.

There are intermediate and advanced models in the Super LoLux HD product line, with a box style (less lens), indoor mini dome and outdoor dome available at both levels. The intermediate class adds a box style camera with an integrated lens, while the advanced models include an outdoor camera with an integrated housing. The four intermediate models will ship in April, and the four advanced models will ship in June.

VR-X Series HD NVRs

Now shipping, the VR-X1600U and VR-X3200U NVRs offer 16- and 32-channel recording, respectively, as well as support for 1080p and 720p full HD resolutions with H.264 High Profile, MPEG-4 and M-JPEG multi-codec support. The units offer enterprise-level full HD recording and viewing for an unlimited number of NVRs, cameras, sites and users.

Both 3 RU models include four HDD bays and ship with a pre-installed 1-TB drive. Three additional drives can be easily installed from the front panel for additional storage and both also support RAID 1, 5 and 10, with optional support for RAID 6 technology. A rear panel I/O offers alarm interface support.

VN-T Series V.Networks Cameras

Three new V.Networks day/night cameras are 1080p full HD and offer support for H.264 (High Profile), M-JPEG and MPEG-4. They all use a new 1/2.7-inch CMOS imager and match the sensitivity (0.3 lux) of JVC’s established CCD-based cameras. Other features include two-way audio, power over Ethernet (PoE), SD card recording, motion detection and back light compensation.

The VN-T216VPRU is a vandal-proof outdoor dome (IP66) with True Day/Night performance and built-in IR LEDs (50-foot IR distance), while the VN-T216U is a vandal-resistant indoor mini dome and the VN-T16U is an indoor box camera. Both the VN-T216VPRU and VN-T216U feature a 3mm-9mm lens, while lenses for the VN-T16U are sold separately (CS mount).
