Nanolumens has introduced new enhancements to its Aurora video processing platform, adding Lightweight Directory Access Protocol compatibility for Active Directory systems and a proprietary Eye Guard feature designed to reduce eye fatigue during extended viewing.
The updates are aimed at large-scale and security-focused deployments where centralized control and continuous monitoring are required. With Active Directory integration, Aurora now enables organizations to manage user authentication and permissions through existing network security frameworks. IT teams can control access through a centralized directory, simplifying credential management across corporate and distributed networks, including environments such as airports.
Eye Guard is designed for personnel who monitor displays for prolonged periods, including operators in network operations centers and security operations centers. The feature is intended to help reduce eye fatigue while maintaining visual clarity, supporting operator performance in environments that require continuous attention.
“With Active Directory support and Eye Guard, Aurora continues to mature to meet the operational needs of secure and large-scale deployments,” said Brice McPheeters, vice president of product and planning at Nanolumens. “It’s critical that we solve video processing challenges from the user’s perspective. Aurora’s LDAP feature, which is unique in the video processing industry, does just that by removing the single sign-on barriers operators currently experience. These enhancements give organizations greater administrative control and security while better supporting the teams responsible for monitoring and managing critical visual systems.”
Originally introduced in June 2025, Aurora was designed to operate exclusively with Nanolumens displays, providing an integrated video processing platform for applications requiring consistent performance and streamlined management. The device is TAA-compliant and supports centralized administration across complex display networks.
Nanolumens said the latest updates reflect continued investment in meeting the security, usability and operational requirements of enterprise and control room environments. The platform is suited for commercial and institutional settings that require secure access, oversight and reliable visual performance.
