Sharp Expands dvLED Lineup With EC Series Chip-on-Board Displays

Sharp Display Solutions America has announced the upcoming launch of its EC Series dvLED displays, expanding the company’s E Series lineup with new Chip-on-Board construction designed to improve durability, image quality and operational efficiency.
The EC Series will make its public debut at Integrated Systems Europe 2026, taking place Feb. 3–6 in Barcelona. Sharp said the new displays are intended for retail, education, corporate and public environments that require high-performance dvLED displays at a competitive price point.
According to Sharp, the EC Series uses Chip-on-Board technology rather than traditional surface-mounted devices. The company said this approach delivers enhanced durability and improved image performance while lowering long-term operating costs. Sharp added that the EC Series cabinet design is intended to reduce installation time, with deployments taking up to 50% less time compared with previous designs.
“We are proud to introduce the EC Series, designed to deliver exceptional quality, performance, and durability in the dvLED segment,” said Mark Miller, product manager, dvLED, at Sharp Display Solutions. “This series reduces complexity for integrators, by providing a substantially reduced installation time, and demonstrates our commitment to empowering users with future-ready display solutions that create powerful visual experiences.”
Sharp said the EC Series is designed to reduce power consumption by up to 60% compared with standard surface-mounted LED displays, while maintaining brightness levels. The company positions the series as an energy-efficient option for organizations focused on sustainability and lower operating costs.
The EC Series will be available in pixel pitches of 0.9 mm, 1.2 mm, 1.5 mm and 1.8 mm. Sharp said the displays offer contrast ratios of up to 10,000:1, allowing content to be presented with high clarity and detail.
Sharp confirmed that the EC Series dvLED displays are scheduled to begin shipping in April 2026. The company will demonstrate the new lineup during ISE 2026 as part of its broader display technology portfolio.
