Biamp Deploys Networked Audio System at One & Only Kéa Island

Biamp has completed the deployment of a networked audio system at One & Only Kéa Island, a luxury resort on the Greek island of Kéa. The system was designed to deliver high-performance sound across multiple indoor and outdoor spaces while maintaining the resort’s architectural aesthetic.
The resort required a flexible audio solution capable of supporting a variety of environments, from spa areas to dining and social spaces, with independent zone control and simplified management for staff. The system also needed to allow for future scalability without disrupting existing infrastructure.
“Luxury environments constantly evolve, and the systems behind them need to evolve just as seamlessly,” said Joe Andrulis, executive vice president of corporate development at Biamp. “The flexible, networked architecture deployed at One & Only Kéa Island gives the resort the control it needs today, with the confidence to scale and adapt in the future.”
The installation features a distributed, multi-zone Audio-over-IP architecture based on the Dante protocol, enabling digital audio transport across the resort’s fiber- and copper-based network. At the center of the system is the Tesira digital signal processing platform, which provides centralized control while supporting decentralized amplification and processing for future expansion.
Desono loudspeakers were selected to provide consistent audio coverage throughout guest areas. With an IP64 rating, the loudspeakers are designed for both indoor and outdoor use and are integrated to blend with the resort’s design. Apprimo touch panels provide staff with control over audio sources and volume levels in different zones.
The system supports independent audio streams for areas including the lobby, spa, pool and dining venues. Live inputs such as microphones and Bluetooth sources can be shared between zones when needed. Paging and emergency announcements are prioritized to ensure clear communication across the property.
According to Biamp, the combination of networked audio distribution, digital signal processing and discreet loudspeaker design enables the resort to deliver a consistent audio experience while maintaining operational efficiency.
