CAST Software officially launched BlackTrax Core, a new deployment option designed to make professional real-time tracking more accessible for a wider range of productions. The company said this allows the BlackTrax software to run on their own compatible computer, removing the need for a dedicated BlackTrax server and expands the possibilities of real-time tracking within their environments.

The company said that in order to experience BlackTrax Core, productions will still require the appropriate BlackTrax tracking hardware for their application, working alongside the software to deliver real-time tracking. The new deployment option is designed for more compact live shows, immersive installations, music festivals and other applications. It provides access to the BlackTrax software experience within the supported capabilities of the Core configuration.

CAST said it will share further information about its capabilities, system requirements and deployment options in the coming weeks.

“BT-C gives productions a more cost-effective way to deploy BlackTrax by running on a compatible computer rather than requiring a dedicated server. It creates a more accessible entry point for compact shows, with the flexibility to scale into a larger BlackTrax deployment as production needs grows.It is exciting to make BlackTrax an option for more productions, and I am especially interested to see the creative ways teams put that opportunity to use,” said Nicholas Lau, product manager of CAST Software.
