Blackwire Designs has announced a strategic partnership with Kidde to carry Kidde’s latest line of Ring-integrated smart smoke and carbon monoxide alarms.

According to Blackwire Designs, the partnership allows dealers to source fire protection from the same distributor they use for automation and networking hardware. The collaboration centers on detection technology designed to react to smoke significantly faster and with more precision than previous standards.

“Adding Kidde to our lineup strengthens our commitment to delivering end-to-end life-safety solutions,” said Cody Crossland, vice president of sales and customer service at Blackwire Designs. “By pairing Kidde’s legacy of reliability with the Ring ecosystem, our dealers can increase project scope and deliver a higher-value installation from a single procurement source.”

The offerings include the Smart Smoke + CO Alarm and the standalone Smart Smoke Alarm, which is available in a hardwired configuration with a battery-powered version coming soon. 

Blackwire Designs said the integration with the Ring ecosystem enables dealers to design complete safety systems managed through a single interface. Both models deliver real-time notifications for smoke, carbon monoxide and low-battery warnings directly to a user’s mobile device. Blackwire said that the devices support optional 24/7 professional monitoring through a compatible Ring subscription.
