Chowmainsoft today announced that it has joined the Josh.ai Developer Program. The company is developing drivers for the Josh.ai ecosystem, with the first driver, a Somfy PoE motor driver, officially certified through the Josh.ai platform.

Somfy’s Power over Ethernet motor range allows for power and network communication over a single Ethernet cable. Chowmainsoft said that this approach aims to simplify installation and improve reliability, with the solution being suitable for residential and commercial installations.

Somfy POE motors now integrate directly with Josh.ai through the new certified driver. This capability allows for intuitive control through Josh.ai’s touch, text and voice interfaces.

The integration aims to provide IP control of Somfy PoE motors within Josh. ai as well as automatic discovery of motors with automatic recovery when devices reconnect to the network. Group shade control and preset position control are included along with Wink functionality via the Josh.ai virtual keypad and ability to incorporate Somfy PoE shades into Josh.ai scenes.

Chowmainsoft said that The Somfy PoE driver is the first of several drivers that the company plans to introduce as part of its ongoing development for the Josh.ai platform.
