Cobalt Digital Introduces blueCORE at NAB Show 2026

Cobalt Digital officially launched its COBALT blueCORE standalone processors family at NAB Show 2026. The company said that the solutions were designed to bridge the gap between ST 2110/IPMX and SDI. blueCORE aims to provide multi-function audio and video processing for flexible and efficient workflows.

Cobalt Digital said that the new family of solutions serves to combine all audio and video processing functions necessary for live production in one 1RU device. The self-contained form factor was implemented in an effort to improve speed and simplicity of deployment with or without a computer.

Key features of blueCORE include support for SDI inputs and outputs, four channels of 3G processing or one channel of up to 12G, as well as access to ST 2110/IPMX inputs. The units include a large touchscreen panel on the front for local configuration of processing functions. Cobalt Digital said that this is meant to serve as an advantage in small OB vans. They can also be used in fixed environments and can be controlled remotely through a Web GUI.

blueCORE features other capabilities, such as up/down/cross conversion, color correction, HDR processing, per-channel frame sync, frame rate conversion, audio embedding and deembedding, SCTE104 insertion and logo insertion.

“blueCORE answers the need for a fully featured processor that fits into even the most compact spaces while delivering an exceptional range of capabilities. With support for both SDI and ST 2110/IPMX, it is especially attractive to those transitioning from SDI to IP – everything they need is contained in one small unit,” said Suzana Brady, SVP of worldwide sales and marketing at Cobalt Digital.
