Extron Adds ECO Standby to All XPA Ultra FX Amplifiers

Extron announced that all XPA Ultra FX Series four- and eight-channel multi-zone audio power amplifiers now include its ECO Standby feature.
According to Extron, ECO Standby places an amplifier into standby after a few seconds of inactivity, reducing power draw to less than 1 watt. The company said its InstaWake+ technology returns the amplifier to full power from standby in under 5 milliseconds.
Extron also said all models in the XPA Ultra FX Series are now Ecofficient Level 4 qualified.
“Energy savings has always been an important focus of Extron products and remains a key requirement of AV system designs and installations,” said Casey Hall, chief marketing officer at Extron. “The expansion of ECO Standby into all our high power XPA Ultra FX amplifiers maintains that commitment to energy savings and provides an essential solution to the market.”
The XPA Ultra FX Series includes four- and eight-channel models rated at 200 or 400 watts per channel. Extron said the amplifiers can deliver up to 400 or 800 watts per channel when operating at half the available channel count.
Each channel can be independently configured for 8-ohm, 4-ohm, 70V or 100V operation, according to the company. Extron positions the series for multi-zone AV installations requiring different channel configurations and output formats.
The ECO Standby update extends the feature across the full XPA Ultra FX lineup.
