Kwikset has introduced Capetown, a new arched trim option designed to give homeowners a cohesive look across interior and exterior doors.

The Capetown trim is available with select Kwikset levers, knobs and deadbolts, including the Sedona lever and Sora knob for interior doors. A matching Capetown 258 deadbolt extends the look to exterior entrances.

Kwikset said Capetown’s design complements a range of architectural and interior styles and is well suited for traditional and historic homes.

“Capetown brings a fresh perspective to traditional door hardware, combining an iconic arched form with versatile Kwikset designs so homeowners can carry a consistent look throughout the home.”

Kwikset said the collection’s oversized trim creates an elevated, substantial appearance while also helping cover paint marks and surface imperfections that may remain after previous door hardware is removed.

The Capetown deadbolt and keyed entry knobs and levers feature Kwikset’s patented SmartKey Security which, the company noted, helps protect against advanced break-in techniques and allows homeowners to re-key the lock in seconds. 

Capetown products are designed for do-it-yourself installation and can be installed using a screwdriver. The collection fits standard doors measuring 1 3/8 to 1 3/4 inches thick, while all functions except the dummy function feature an adjustable latch for 2 3/8- or 2 3/4-inch backsets.

According to Kwikset, the collection is available in Satin Nickel, Satin Brass and Matte Black finishes. The Capetown 258 deadbolt and Sedona and Sora entry, passage and privacy functions are Grade AAA certified by the Builders Hardware Manufacturers Association for security, durability and finish.

Kwikset backs the products with a lifetime mechanical and finish warranty. The Capetown collection will be available at The Home Depot, Lowe’s, Amazon and other major retailers, with prices starting at $40.99.
