Behind the Booth at InfoComm 2026: An Interview With Magewell’s Amy Zhou

MagewellInfoComm 2026 is about more than product launches — it’s about the people, strategies and ideas driving the next phase of the AV industry. In this Q&A series, exhibitors share what they’re showcasing at the show, the trends influencing their roadmap and the conversations they’re hoping to have with integrators, consultants and end users in Las Vegas. In this edition, we spoke with Amy Zhou from Magewell.

Q: What trends or challenges in the AV industry most influenced what you’re bringing to InfoComm 2026 this year?

A: It is obvious that broadcast and Pro AV technologies are now overlapping, which changes how content is created, contributed, produced and distributed. At our roots, Magewell started in video I/O technology and expanded to offer IP workflow solutions. With the “Broadcast AV” trend accelerating, we will be reinforcing our emphasis on AV-over-IP technology. Visitors to our booth will see our latest IP innovations, featuring broad IP format and protocol compatibility, 4K video processing and flexible input and output options in different form factors.

Q: What specific solution, product or capability should attendees make a point to see at your booth — and what real-world problem does it solve?

A:InfoComm visitors will find a wide array of new products and upgrades to explore at our booth this year. For those who want to create content for sports streaming, worship productions, town hall meetings, video podcasting or other audiences, our new Director Plus all-in-one production and presentation solution is designed to efficiently meet all of their needs in a single device. Building upon the rich input flexibility and extensive feature set of earlier Director models, Director Plus adds more HDMI inputs and outputs; 4K encoding at 60FPS for recording and streaming; and enhanced network connectivity including an integrated 5G modem and 2.5Gbps Ethernet. Content creators and presenters can rely on Director Plus to create engaging content, with no computer or additional software needed.

Q: Where are you seeing the most momentum right now in the AV market — and how is your company positioning itself to meet that demand?

A: As one of the first companies that offered product lines spanning both broadcast production and Pro AV—long before “Broadcast AV” was a buzzword—Magewell already has significant traction across multiple markets, and we’re continuing that momentum. We see ourselves as providing technology bridges — we connect yesterday’s infrastructures with modern IP workflows for the future; and we connect customers with the right solutions to meet their requirements for achieving broadcast quality under varying network conditions and with a limited budget.

Q: For integrators, consultants and end users trying to navigate the show floor efficiently, what makes your booth worth adding to their must-visit list?

A: Whatever challenges people have with bridging AV signals or IP streams with software, screens and AV systems, ask Magewell! We have answers to these challenges. Visitors will see solutions—from video I/O technology to IP encoding and decoding—in various form factors, from small standalone devices to our scalable 2U rackmount solution. Live demonstrations will allow visitors to see firsthand how we blend broadcasting elements into AV products.

Q: Without giving everything away, is there anything new or unexpected attendees should keep an eye out for at your booth?

A: Magewell’s existing Pro Convert family has been very popular for video contribution and distribution workflows in many vertical markets. Our new generation of IP encoders and decoders build on the proven reliability and ease of use of earlier Pro Convert models with enhanced processing, expanded format compatibility and more flexible output options. We will show many innovations in the new generation, as well as a brand new product which is the first of a new series designed to move IP-based production and distribution a step forward.
