Panasonic Named Official Projector Partner for TGL Presented by SoFi
Panasonic Projector & Display Americas has been named the Official Projector Partner of TGL presented by SoFi, the technology-driven team golf league created by TMRW Sports. The multi-year partnership brings Panasonic’s professional projection systems to the custom-built SoFi Center in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, where they help power the league’s hybrid mix of virtual and real-world gameplay.
Central to the installation are nine PT-RQ50K 4K laser projectors, each delivering 50,000 lumens of brightness. The projectors illuminate TGL’s 64-by-53-foot display surface, a screen roughly 24 times larger than a typical golf simulator. The system delivers high clarity, color accuracy and brightness designed to support TGL’s blend of data-rich virtual holes and live short-game action.
“TGL represents the next evolution of how technology can elevate live sports,” said Taka Uchida, CEO of Panasonic Projector & Display Americas. “Through this partnership, Panasonic is helping redefine what it means to experience golf by bringing fans closer to the energy, precision, and emotion of the game than ever before.”
Panasonic will continue working with TGL’s operations and technology teams to refine the league’s large-format visuals, including projection displays that support both in-venue viewing and broadcast presentation.
“Technology is at the heart of TGL, and Panasonic’s projection systems are essential in helping us deliver the league’s immersive experience,” said Andrew Macaulay, chief technology officer at TMRW Sports. “This partnership underscores our commitment to pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in live sports entertainment.”
Season 2 of TGL opens Sunday, Dec. 28 on ABC, marking the league’s first appearance on a broadcast network. TGL features six teams of PGA TOUR players competing in a short-form, team-based format that blends virtual play with a physical short-game complex. The league’s first season concluded in March 2025 with Atlanta Drive GC winning the SoFi Cup.
