ATEN International has expanded its professional video wall processor portfolio with the introduction of the VW1608 16×8 Modular Video Wall Processor. The new model joins the company’s existing VW3620 (36×20) processor, offering a more compact option for mission-critical environments requiring scalable visual performance.

Housed in a 4U chassis, the VW1608 supports up to 16 input sources and eight display outputs, with daisy-chaining capability to expand up to 24 displays. ATEN said the system is designed for applications including corporate war rooms, auditoriums, transportation hubs and disaster response centers where continuous operation and system reliability are essential.

The processor is built on an FPGA-based hardware architecture and incorporates FrameSync technology to maintain synchronized visuals during source switching. ATEN said the system supports true 4K resolution at 60Hz and is designed to deliver low-latency performance while optimizing content across different display types and video wall configurations.

For LED video walls, the VW1608 supports overlapping and cross-screen windowing, enabling content to move across a seamless display surface. An integrated Web GUI allows operators to manage layouts using drag-and-drop controls, while a local HDMI output provides live preview functionality before changes are deployed to the main wall.

The modular platform includes four input slots and two output slots within the 4U chassis. Designed for 24/7 environments, the processor features redundant power supplies and hot-swappable modules to support maintenance without system downtime. It also supports high-availability clustering with real-time mirroring and automatic failover, along with configuration backup and recovery features.
