ATEN Introduces Industry-First KVM over IP with USB 3.2 and Secure VM Enablement Under IT/OT Network Separation

ATEN

ATEN International announced an evolution for the KX9980 5K DisplayPort Dual Display KVM over IP. The industry’s first KVM over IP with USB 3.2 and VM support via KVM-based IT/OT network separation, the KX9980 aims to provide remote connectivity and support for a wide array of use cases.

The KX9980 aims to allow users to access and control high-speed peripherals over an IP connection. It also was designed to ensure fluid peripheral response for rapid data transfers, enabling reliable, remote workflows from any distance.

The receiver features a local PC console for mission-critical operations and serves to support access to physical and virtual environments while keeping physical OT infrastructure isolated. ATEN said that the KX9980 was designed to reinforce operational security and total system integrity for consistent protection and uptime.

The KX9980 also features 12-bit deep color and ultra-high FBS for clear, colorful imaging and improved video transitions for broadcasting and eSports.

“As control rooms evolve toward more decentralized and virtualized environments, the need for fluid, secure integration has never been greater,” said Nicholas Lin, Senior Vice President of ATEN International. “By delivering industry-first USB 3.2 for high-speed data transfers and industry-first VM support via KVM-based IT/OT network separation within our KX9980 KVM over IP extender, we empower organizations to bridge the gap between remote mastery and mission-critical support. This allows operators to switch securely between complex systems while maintaining the stringent security assurance and exceptional near-native performance that modern control rooms demand.”
