ADI announced new updates to its Luma X21 Network Video Recorder. The latest update includes improvements in processing performance, power delivery, bandwidth and installation design.

The updates feature an improved processor platform that aims to provide smoother system performance and increased bandwidth which enables higher-resolution IP cameras. ADI said the goal is to allow for larger, more complex projects without the need to change platforms. Select models have seen a PoE budget increase to support high-resolution, high-power cameras without additional power hardware.

The NVRs now utilize a quieter cooling fan and better acoustic performance in residential spaces. The 16-channel X21 NVR now has an internal power supply which reduces external cabling and simplifies installation. ADI said it was designed as a direct replacement for the first-generation X20 models in response to evolving requirements. It is a part of the ADI residential and entry-level surveillance offering. ADI said it does not replace the commercial-grade Luma 420 Series NVRs.

The updates are NDAA compliant and integrated with OvrC for easy deployment and system management. Native Control4 integration allows for surveillance as part of an automation ecosystem rather than an individual solution.

ADI said the X21 Series reflects the company’s strategy of evolving existing platforms in tandem with modern standards rather than replacing them.
