Arendal Sound has introduced the 1610 Series, a new high-end loudspeaker platform designed for music-focused listeners who also expect strong home cinema performance.

Positioned below the company’s flagship 1528 Series, the 1610 Series was developed in response to customer demand for a more accessible high-end system. According to Arendal Sound, many customers wanted the same build quality and sound philosophy as its top-tier offerings, but in a smaller format suited to a wider range of rooms and listening distances.

The 1610 Series is engineered around real-world installation conditions, where room layouts and speaker placement are often less than ideal. Music serves as the primary reference point for tuning, while movie playback is treated as an equally important use case to ensure consistent performance across both applications.

“Since we launched 1528, many of our customers have asked us for the same confidence, build quality, and sound philosophy in a more approachable system,” says Jan Ove Lassesen, Founder of Arendal Sound.

“With 1610, we’re deliberately moving the reference point. This is high-end sound built for customers who expect real value for their money – not inflated pricing justified by marketing narratives or tradition.”

The company said the 1610 Series reflects its direct-to-consumer model, allowing it to focus on system development and performance consistency rather than traditional distribution structures. All models in the series share the same acoustic intent and voicing, enabling users to build or expand systems over time without altering tonal balance.

The 1610 Series is built on Arendal Sound’s established design principles, including its RØST Essence architecture, time-aligned design for coherent wave propagation, controlled dispersion via waveguides and rigid HDF cabinet construction. The company said these elements are intended to provide predictable performance in typical listening environments.

The Arendal Sound 1610 Series is available to order directly from the company starting Feb. 10. Deliveries are expected to begin in early March, with timing varying between Europe and the United States. Orders placed at launch will receive priority allocation from initial production batches.

All purchases include a 60-day home audition, free returns in the United States and European Union mainland, a 10-year warranty and direct customer support.
