Audix announced the availability of two specialized wireless vocal capsules: the NCEC Extended Cardioid and the NCTH Tight Hypercardioid capsules. The company said that they are designed to bring the trusted AUDIX stage sound into modern wireless workflows.

The company said that the solutions are engineered with thread design compatibility for drop-in upgrades to handheld transmitters from leading brands in the category, and serve as the native voice of the new AUDIX Novacore digital wireless ecosystem.

Audix said that the models were designed to produce the same tonal signature as wired AUDIX setups and allow live sound engineers, singers, worship leaders and AV teams to transition to AUDIX microphone performance without replacing current wireless hardware.

Both the NCEC and NCTH feature drop-in compatibility with common third-party wireless handheld devices for a low-cost trial and immediate sonic upgrade for users of systems. The solutions also employ VLM (Very Low Mass) technology for a natural, articulate sound with a strong transient response. This aims to reduce the need for corrective EQ and allow for fast, mix-ready vocals tailored for houses of worship and live sound environments. They also feature internal vibration isolation for low handling noise.

The NCEC and NCTH are now shipping, each designed for distinct staging needs. The NCEC Extended Cardioid capsule is designed to capture a natural sound, which the company said makes it ideal for general lead vocals and worship settings. The NCTH Tight Hypercardioid capsule is built to provide acoustic isolation in high-SPL stage environments.

Audix said that the capsules provide the native voice of the new AUDIX Novacore platform. Novacore is a scalable ecosystem including single-, dual-, and quad-channel receivers, handheld and bodypack transmitters, wireless MicroBoom systems and the Novacore Frequency Coordinator software.

Novacore features a 48 MHz wideband tuning range and AES-256 encryption to meet modern institutional standards for secure speech and performance. The receivers include Dante integration for routing of wireless channels into AoIP infrastructures.
