AWOL Vision has launched a Kickstarter campaign for its Aetherion ultra short throw projector series, first unveiled at CES 2026. The campaign opened Feb. 10 and runs through April 1, with shipments for early backers expected to begin in April.

The Aetherion series includes two models: the Aetherion Pro and the Aetherion Max. Early backers can secure the Pro for $1,999, compared with a stated MSRP of $3,499, and the Max for $2,199, compared with an MSRP of $4,499.

Designed for living rooms, outdoor movie setups and dedicated home theaters, the Aetherion series supports 4K projection at screen sizes up to 200 inches. AWOL Vision said the projectors are built around what it describes as three pillars: speed, scale and sharpness.

The Aetherion Max delivers 3,300 ISO lumens, while the Pro model offers 2,600 ISO lumens. Both models feature a 6,000:1 native contrast ratio and up to 60,000:1 enhanced black level contrast. Additional specifications include 1 ms-class input latency, variable refresh rate, auto low latency mode and support for Dolby Vision gaming. The projectors use the MT9655 chipset with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage, along with Wi-Fi 7 and Gigabit Ethernet connectivity.

AWOL Vision said the Aetherion series incorporates its proprietary PixelLock optical alignment system to maintain edge-to-edge sharpness at larger screen sizes. The projectors also include anti-rainbow effect technology intended to reduce visual artifacts during 2D and 3D viewing.

In addition to standalone units, the Kickstarter campaign includes bundled packages available to early backers. One bundle pairs the Aetherion Max with a 132-inch screen and a ThunderBeat 4.1.2 wireless surround sound system for $3,999, compared with a stated MSRP of $8,997. Another package includes the Max projector, a 130-inch motorized ambient light rejecting floor-rising screen, a 130-inch cabinet and the ThunderBeat audio system for $8,999, compared with a stated MSRP of $14,496. AWOL Vision said both bundles include complimentary shipping within the United States on launch day.

Founded in 2020 and headquartered in Delray Beach, Florida, AWOL Vision manufactures RGB laser projectors and is the parent brand of Valerion.
