Christie Powers Immersive Visitor Experience at Montana Heritage Center

Christie announced that its projection technology is powering the visitor experience at the recently opened Montana Heritage Center alongside AV design and integration by Electrosonic.
The museum and cultural destination combines large-scale projections, LED displays, interactive touchpoints, spatial audio, motion sensing and storytelling to create the visitor experience. Christie Captiva and GS Series 1DLP projectors were implemented to deliver bright, detailed imagery throughout key exhibit spaces, aiming to transform galleries into dynamic environments that respond to visitor movement and engagement.
The company said that the museum includes interactive experiences including voices of Montana’s sovereign nations through multimedia exhibits, a simulated mine environment for mining history and other experience projections and soundscapes that aim to bring historic events and landscapes to life.
Christie said that a highlight of the museum experience is Washington Way, an immersive entrance experience that features coordinated projection, LED pillars and a luminous ceiling environment to welcome visitors. Christie solutions work alongside LED displays throughout the rest of the museum.
The company said that the Heritage Center’s exhibits are designed to educate as well as evolve, with an integrated technology infrastructure that serves to allow content to refresh and expand over time.
Electrosonic served as the audiovisual design and integration firm for the project, collaborating with RLMG, Main Street Design, Available Light, Cinnabar, Cushing Terrell, Sletten Construction and Christie to deliver the museum’s immersive experiences.
“The Montana Heritage Center demonstrates how technology can deepen engagement with history and culture when it’s thoughtfully integrated into the visitor experience,” said Alex Westerh, vice president of marketing, Electrosonic. “Working alongside an exceptional team of partners, we helped create an environment where projection, audio, LED displays, lighting, and interactivity work together to bring Montana’s stories to life in ways that are immersive, educational, and memorable.”
