FOR-A Partners with John Carroll University to Upgrade TV Production Studio

FOR-A America

FOR-A America has partnered with the Tim Russert Department of Communication at John Carroll University in Ohio to upgrade the school’s TV production studio with new broadcast technology, including an HVS-1200 video switcher, FA-9600 signal processor and MV-1640IP multi-viewer.

The installation expands the university’s ability to support student productions ranging from live sports to weekly shows and streamed events. Students will now train on the same professional-grade systems used by broadcasters worldwide, gaining practical experience with live switching, signal processing and IP-based multiviewing.

“The partnership with FOR-A gives our students the chance to work with the same technology they’ll encounter in studios and in the field,” said Dan Slentz, director of Blue Streak Media at John Carroll. “This changes what we can offer — not just class exercises, but productions that look and feel like professional television.”

The new system also strengthens the university’s sports broadcasting program, enabling live coverage of football, soccer, volleyball, and more for Rock Entertainment Sports. Looking ahead, the department plans to create an Innovation Center connected to the studio to further explore new production workflows and multi-platform content creation.

FOR-A America president and COO Satoshi Kanemura said the collaboration reflects the company’s commitment to education: “Students should have the opportunity to learn with the same systems that drive the broadcast industry. This is an investment in tomorrow’s leaders.”
