Interface Systems Launches TamperShield to Detect Alarm Tampering Before Intrusions

Interface Systems announced the release of TamperShield, a monitoring technology designed to identify alarm system interference before a break-in. The solution performs continuous communication checks on supported alarm panels, giving businesses earlier visibility into line failures, device tampering and other system disruptions.
Unlike traditional alarm monitoring, which activates only after an alarm is triggered, TamperShield verifies communication status in real time to improve uptime and threat awareness. When a supported alarm panel fails to communicate, the system alerts Interface’s monitoring centers, enabling immediate customer notification and, when appropriate, law enforcement engagement.
TamperShield works with DMP and Honeywell alarm panels, allowing organizations to enhance monitoring capabilities without replacing existing hardware. Interface said the system is aimed at high-risk sectors that require uninterrupted alarm coverage.
Interface operates TMA Five Diamond-certified, UL-listed Interactive Security Operations Centers staffed around the clock by U.S.-based security personnel. These centers support more than 75,000 customer locations and provide alarm video verification and real-time response during communication disruptions or intrusion attempts.
A national jewelry retailer has begun deploying TamperShield across all stores, citing rising concerns about criminals attempting to disable security systems before committing theft.
“Criminals are becoming more sophisticated in how they attempt to disable security systems before committing crimes,” said Steve Womer, senior vice president of product at Interface Systems. “TamperShield Alarm Monitoring ensures that customers know the moment their system is compromised, so they can respond immediately.”
TamperShield adds to Interface’s portfolio of security offerings, which includes remote video monitoring, intrusion detection, cloud video management, video analytics and access control. The company said the new service supports a layered security approach for multi-location enterprises.
