Interface Systems announced the integration of JamAlert, a cellular jammer detection device from Digital Monitoring Products, with its TamperShield alarm monitoring service. The combined solution is designed to detect attempts to disrupt alarm communications using cellular interference before a break-in occurs.

Criminals are increasingly using portable cellular jammers to block alarm system communications prior to attempting intrusions, particularly in high-value environments such as jewelry stores, financial institutions and museums. JamAlert monitors the cellular frequencies used by alarm systems and detects abnormal signal interference that may indicate a jamming attempt.

When interference is detected, the device immediately triggers an alarm to alert monitoring personnel of a potential security event. When paired with Interface’s TamperShield service, the system adds additional layers of protection by monitoring alarm panel “heartbeat” communications through Interface’s Interactive Security Operations Center (iSOC).

“TamperShield with JamAlert provides early visibility into sophisticated break-in attempts,” said Steve Womer, SVP of Product at Interface Systems. “Instead of discovering interference after a break-in, we can identify a jamming attempt as it begins, verify activity through video monitoring, and respond quickly. This proactive approach helps deter crime and reduce loss.”

The integrated system combines multiple monitoring capabilities, including early detection of cellular jamming attempts at the site level and continuous oversight of alarm panel connectivity from the iSOC. When suspicious activity is detected, monitoring teams can verify events through live video feeds and escalate response procedures.

Those responses may include notifying staff, dispatching law enforcement or issuing voice-down deterrence messages if a credible threat is confirmed. The goal is to provide faster situational awareness and intervention before a physical intrusion occurs.

JamAlert is compatible with both DMP and Honeywell intrusion systems, allowing organizations to add jammer detection capabilities without replacing existing alarm infrastructure.

Interface Systems said the integration is intended to help multi-location enterprises strengthen protection against increasingly sophisticated intrusion methods while maintaining compatibility with established security systems.
