OpenAV Cloud has announced milestones in an initiative to advance its AV ecosystem ahead of ISE 2026.

The company said updates include the launch of a membership tier for system integrators and managed service providers, the publication of the first two chapters of the OpenAV Cloud technical framework, and the addition of new industry members.

OpenAV Cloud stated that this initiative enables manufacturers, integrators, and end-users to collaborate more effectively.

The membership tier for system integrators and managed service providers is named Industry Supporters. The company said this free tier is designed to formally include integrators in the initiative, with hopes of driving customer demand for open and interoperable systems.

“The addition of an Industry Supporter tier acknowledges the critical role integrators play in
shaping how AV solutions are delivered in the real world,” said Petro Shimonishi, director of
new business development at Panasonic Projector. “OpenAV Cloud is creating a space where those perspectives directly influence the industry’s direction.”

The first two chapters of the company’s technical framework will be available for industry review on the OpenAV Discord channel.

The company said these initial chapters provide guidelines for AV device security and baseline functionality, and serve as the foundation for creating and sharing open cloud-based APIs across the industry.

“This is about giving the industry a common starting point,” said Sam Sabet, CTO at Shure. “These first framework chapters are about turning collaboration into something practical that manufacturers and integrators can actually build on. Going forward, our vision is to create a standard that would be embraced by the entire community.”

The OpenAV Cloud is also adding new members to its Contributing Members tier, all companies that OpenAV Cloud said are dedicated to accelerating the AV industry’s connection to the cloud.
