OpenAV Cloud officially announced its advancement of its cloud-connected AV ecosystem through expansion of its global membership across manufacturers, system integrators and end users, as well as appointment of industry leaders to key roles.

The company is welcoming its newest contributing members– L-Acoustics, Huddly, Navori, Ecler, Korbyt, Granteq, Infobit, ProAV IT and Providius. OpenAV Cloud also introduced a dedicated membership tier for system integrators and managed service providers called Industry Supporters. The tier is free and designed to formally include integrators. It recently opened for end users as well.

“The addition of an Industry Supporter tier acknowledges the critical role integrators play in shaping how AV solutions are delivered in the real world,” said Petro Shimonishi, community outreach committee chair and director of new business development at Panasonic Projector and Display Americas. “OpenAV Cloud is creating a space where those perspectives directly influence the industry’s direction.”

OpenAV Cloud also announced that it has formalized its leadership structure with the appointment of key roles to support its strategic and technical direction. Adam Sowers from Sony Electronics was appointed as chair with Randly Klein as co-chair. Sam Sabet from Shure was appointed to the technical committee chair position, and Petro Shimonishi from Panasonic is now the community outreach committee chair. Lital Grossman from Xyte is now the executive director and marketing committee chair.

The company’s first three chapters of its technical framework are now available for download on the OpenAV website. The chapters provide guidelines for AV device security, baseline functionality and device taxonomy. Additional chapters will be released as the framework evolves.
