Panasonic Projector and Display Corporation will introduce its new VMQ85 Series of 4K LCD projectors to European audiences at Integrated Systems Europe 2026, using an interactive golf simulator to demonstrate the technology’s performance in immersive simulation environments.

The VMQ85 Series will be featured at Panasonic’s booth (3J500), where visitors will be able to test the projector firsthand inside a golf simulation experience. The company said the hands-on demo is intended to highlight the projector’s suitability for sports simulation and other interactive applications.

Designed specifically for simulation-led environments, the VMQ85 Series includes Panasonic’s first 4K LCD projector. The square-pixel architecture is intended to deliver finely detailed visuals at close viewing distances while reducing visible pixel structure, supporting more realistic imagery for immersive use cases.

Weighing under 8 kilograms, the VMQ85 is engineered for installation in compact or challenging spaces such as simulator bays and dedicated experience rooms. The series includes three models delivering brightness levels of up to 8,000 lumens and incorporates Panasonic’s two-axis pixel-shifting technology.

For fixed-lens installations, the VMQ85 offers a 1.09–1.77:1 throw ratio, supported by a 1.6x optical zoom and lens shift of +44% vertically and ±20% horizontally. Panasonic said this flexibility allows integrators to accommodate a range of room sizes and layouts while maintaining image alignment.

A dedicated Vivid Green Mode is included to optimize visuals for golf simulation environments. The mode enhances green tones and turf textures to improve course realism and ball tracking, even in controlled ambient light. Panasonic said image clarity is maintained across curved or angled surfaces, supporting more creative simulator designs.

“Our golf simulator at ISE gives visitors a hands-on way to experience how the VMQ85 performs in a real-world simulation setting,” Kulessa added.

The VMQ85 Series also incorporates efficiency and sustainability features. Panasonic said approximately 50% of the projector’s plastic body is manufactured using recycled resin, with recyclable cardboard used for packaging cushions. An Image Detection function automatically reduces light output when projected content remains unchanged for a defined period, helping to lower power consumption.

Additional setup tools include an on-screen Angle Monitor designed to simplify tilt visualization and support faster, more accurate installation.
