Theory Introduces p9 Pendant Loudspeaker
Theory Audio Design is introducing the p9 pendant loudspeaker at CEDIA Expo 2026.
According to Theory, the p9 unites wide bandwidth, lively dynamics, high maximum output and refined acoustic performance in a slender profile.
The p9’s nine-inch coaxial driver is fitted with a carbon fiber sandwich low frequency diaphragm that leverages the company’s Theorem High Frequency Waveguide profile, providing smooth, wide dispersion of the high frequencies and low frequency output down to 45 Hz. The p9 does not require a subwoofer.
Theory said the p9 provides 120-degree dispersion to the highest frequencies, creating a large coverage area.
“Those who are amazed by our current in-ceiling, pendant, and bollard loudspeakers will be absolutely floored when they experience the p9,” said Paul Hales, chief executive officer of Theory Audio Design.
“The sound quality we get from the p9 – a surprisingly slender pendant loudspeaker – rivals the sound of some large, expensive high-end floor-standing speakers in resolution, accuracy, and even bandwidth. You have to hear it to believe it.”
The p9 features a black anodized all-aluminum enclosure that is designed to integrate into any environment, including high-end residences, restaurants, hotels and spas.
The p9 will be available in the first quarter of 2027 in both passive (16-ohms/70V) and PoE versions.
Visitors to CEDIA Expo will be able to see and hear the p9 in booth 1300.
