LG Electronics USA introduced the LG MAGNIT Gen 2 Micro LED LMPD display, a large-format display designed for commercial installations. The new model will make its first U.S. public appearance Sept. 15 during a customer event at Starpower’s Dallas showroom.

The LMPD combines LG Micro LED technology with NovaStar’s COEX 5G Solution. According to LG, the system is designed to provide screen configuration, image processing and system management for installations including corporate spaces, auditoriums and control rooms.

“The LG MAGNIT Gen 2 Micro LED display was built for projects where image precision, control and deployment flexibility have to work together,” said Michael Kosla, B2B senior vice president at LG Electronics USA. “By combining LG Micro LED display technology with NovaStar’s processing platform, the LMPD display gives integrators a more confident way to configure, monitor and manage Micro LED systems for sophisticated projects and commercial applications with complex operational demands.”

NovaStar’s Vision Management Platform software provides monitoring, diagnostics, color processing and system management, according to LG. The company also said the LMPD’s architecture is designed to reduce cabling requirements.

LG said SFP+ connectivity allows signal transmission between the display and controller over distances of up to 6.2 miles using fiber-optic connections. The company compared that with an approximately 328-foot transmission distance previously supported.

LG lists a 160-degree horizontal and vertical viewing angle for the LMPD. Other stated features include the company’s FLAT, or Front Line Aligned Tiling, technology for module alignment, five-layer grayscale calibration, full black coating and HDR10 and HLG support.

The LMPD joins LG’s MAGNIT LMPx Series, which also includes the LMPA and LMPB displays for residential and commercial applications. The company plans to demonstrate the lineup during the Sept. 15 Starpower event.
