Magnetar officially debuted ULTIMA, a luxury media transport featuring a DC power stage. The company said the solution is engineered as a pure reference source and is designed to preserve source integrity from disc to display or external processor for home cinema and high-performance audio systems.

The company said ULTIMA builds on Magnetar’s MKII platform and supports UHD Blu-ray, Blu-ray, DVD, CD, SACD, DVD-Audio, DSD/DoP via AES/EBU, USB media, and high-resolution network playback along with Dolby Vision and HDR10+.

ULTIMA is powered by a dedicated DC power architecture with BYD lithium-based power stages to isolate critical transport, clocking, and signal pathways from noise, fluctuations, and contamination elements commonly found in conventional power environments. The company said ULTIMA’s power architecture aims to allow for the creation of a stable, low-noise operating environment for precision playback.

The new solution also features a synchronized master clock system anchored around a unified 10 MHz reference that serves to maintain precise system timing across the player for stable, accurate transmission to downstream components such as external processors and DACs. Other key features include a reinforced chassis that aims to minimize vibration and suppress resonance, as well as internally isolated components that shield sensitive circuits from unwanted interference.

The Magnetar ULTIMA is now shipping and available through Magnetar’s authorized dealer and distributor network. ULTIMA will be on display at CEDIA Expo 2026 in booth #4103.
