Savant announced that JC Murphy, chief commercial officer at Savant Systems Inc., has been appointed to the Consumer Technology Association’s Smart Home Division Board of Directors.

The Smart Home Division is focused on advancing the smart home market by driving awareness, demand and innovation across the industry. The division represents manufacturers, integrators, distributors and startups, and works to shape the future of home control, entertainment and networking technologies through collaboration and advocacy.

In his role at Savant, Murphy oversees revenue growth, market share and commercial strategy across traditional lighting, smart home and smart energy categories in both professionally installed and do-it-yourself channels. Savant’s GE-branded DIY lighting and smart home products are sold in 52,000 brick-and-mortar retail locations and online in North America through GE Lighting, a Savant company. Savant and GE-branded professional smart home and energy products are distributed globally through a network of authorized integrators.
