Josh.ai announced a new partnership with JVC that brings JVC D-ILA home theater projectors into the Josh.ai smart home automation platform, expanding voice and system-based control options for residential theaters.

Through the integration, JVC home theater projectors can be automatically discovered within the Josh.ai ecosystem once connected to the network. Josh.ai said the system allows professional installers to quickly authorize and configure projectors using the Josh.ai Web Portal, with no limit on the number of supported projectors per home. Configuration options include HDMI inputs, media output zones and other settings designed to support complex home entertainment environments.

Once integrated, homeowners can control projector power, inputs and volume, as well as access supported streaming and cable video platforms. Josh.ai said users can manage their theaters using voice commands, the Josh.ai remote or custom scenes that combine multiple devices into a single command.

The companies said the partnership is designed to support a more immersive and personalized viewing experience. Voice commands such as “Hey Josh, dim the lights, draw the shades, and watch ‘Stranger Things’ on Netflix” demonstrate how projector control can be combined with lighting, shading and content selection within a single automation platform.

“Delivering immersive experiences and advancing user-centric home theater projection technology that integrates effortlessly into modern smart homes remains a core priority for JVC,” said Jamie Pasley, general manager of JVC Home Theater Projectors. “Our collaboration with Josh.ai—an industry-leading innovator in home automation—reflects our commitment to open, seamless compatibility across the ecosystem. As Josh.ai continues to push the boundaries of artificial intelligence in the connected home, this partnership ensures a smooth, unified integration experience for every installation.”

Josh.ai said the integration supports its broader strategy of expanding category partnerships within the smart home. The company positions its platform as a privacy-focused, AI-driven control system designed for custom residential environments.

“We’re excited to introduce JVC support for our mutual dealers and clients. As Josh has grown, our team is proud to continue expanding with strategic category integrations,” said Alex Capecelatro, CEO of Josh.ai. “Our partnerships are extremely important as we recommend innovative solutions to our customers. Our goal with Josh.ai is to deliver joy in the smart home, and we’re thrilled to power dynamic theater experiences with JVC.”

JVC Projectors Home Theater, a subsidiary of JVCKENWOOD Corporation, manufactures D-ILA front projection systems for the residential market. The companies said the integration is available now to Josh.ai dealers and installers.
