Josh.ai has launched a new partnership with Shade Innovations that brings native support for Shade Innovations’ wired and wireless TRO.Y IP Bridge shades into the Josh.ai smart home ecosystem.

The integration adds shade control to Josh.ai’s environmental platform, allowing homeowners to manage window coverings using natural voice commands or the Josh App. Josh.ai said the partnership is aimed at giving custom installers, designers and homeowners greater flexibility when designing high-performance, automated shading systems.

Shade Innovations shades integrate directly with Josh.ai, providing full feature parity across the platform’s interfaces. Users can open or close shades with percentage-based precision, supporting both horizontal and vertical shade orientations for more refined daylight and privacy control.

For installers, the integration is designed to streamline setup and deployment. After authorization within Josh.ai’s NIMBLE DevSuite, Shade Innovations TRO.Y IP Gateways automatically populate in the Josh.ai web portal, allowing systems to be discovered and configured without manual device mapping.

Josh.ai said the integration enables homeowners to create personalized scenes and routines that combine shades with lighting, entertainment and other connected systems. Voice commands such as “Hey Josh, close the west blackout shades after sunset” or multi-step commands that adjust shades, lighting and media simultaneously illustrate how shading becomes part of a broader automation experience.
